problems with an aging sewer system.. has the cities of saint petersburg and largo especially concerned about tropical storm hermine. and all this rain... is already causing problems. the city of largo says-- the extreme heavy rain has overloaded parts of the sanitary sewer system. getting into the pipes.this is all happening before the storm has even made landfall.the city is asking people to conserve water.cut back on the non-essential activities like doing laundry and washing other parts of largo, we spotted neighborhoods underwater. similar problems in st. pete, where they are ?also asking residents to conserve water... because of similar sewage problems. here's what mayor kriseman had to say

flooding was also a concern in manatee county. here's a look at the damage, at the floridana mobile home park... south of bradenton. some residents had to find another place to stay overnight. water went into some homes and covered several

overflowed. at one point the water was even getting close to highway 53. the storm forced one tampa family ?out of their home. that's because a giant tree branch fell on it. linda dorman and three of her kids were hanging out in her bedroom when they heard a noise. all of a sudden, a massive limb from their neighbor's tree crashed through the roof. linda dove to protect her five year old.. and pieces of the roof actually hit her when the tree came through. the tree left a gaping hole. the red cross helped them find a place to stay. parents... in case you missed the phone calls, emails or social media posts. ?most bay area public schools are closed today. every coastal county... from citrus all the way down to manatee county. all of u-s-f's college campuses are closed today as well, along with h-c-c campuses... and st. petersburg college campuses... and southern technical college, the shortest list is the schools that ?are open today. that includes polk county... which ?did cancel ?outdoor activites today, including sports.

the university of tampa ?will have classes today. and further north... two other college campuses ?remain open today... the university of florida in gainesville, and even florida state in tallahassee... which could see a ?big impact from this storm later today. but if you have students up north... check in with them later today.. to see if that changes. and the city of tampa is helping out all those parents who don't have anywhere to send their kids today. the city is opening all of it's recreation faclities. they want to give kids and senior citizens a place... to wait out the rain. the rec centers are all opening this morning at eight a-m. no major power outages reported in the tampa area. but tampa electric is ready for whatever comes our way. hundreds of trucks started staging in a parking lot next to the old tampa greyhound track last night... ready just in case electric lines go down. a teco spokeswoman says the company's emergency plan is ready to go if needed. she also says about 180 workers from other states in the southeast are on hand to

and a big mistake wednesday just got a rays player sent to the minors! the rays playing their rubber match with the red sox yesterday afternoon. kevin kiermaier gets a hit... and tim beckham scores from second. or.... not. kiermaier got tagged stretching to a double. beckham's run ?would have counted... if he kept running and scored first. but he actually slowed down. its one of ?several baserunning blunders beckham has made in the past few wee. the rays sent him to triple-a. boston won the game... six to four. when we come back, dave has another look at the track of tropical storm hermine. it might be quiet now... but it probably ?wont stay that

whats making headlines across america: first up.... donald trump takes his immigration plan ?across the border. on wednesday, he met with the president of mexico... ?in mexico. mexican president "enrique pena nieto" sent the inviation to trump ?and hillary clinton. but only trump made the trip. he says the two talked about building that ?wall across the u.s.- mexico border... but trump says they'll discuss ?payment at a later date. the mexican president has already said in the past that his country will ?not pay for
